The view from your private suite at Carmelin

The Blue Room ready to welcome you

Carmelin offers unique accommodation with breathtaking sea views from your private suite for two, in a sunny, south-facing house at the end of a quiet country lane.

The Carmelin Suite is the only accommodation available, so you do not share your holiday with any other guests. You have our undivided attention, if and when you want it.

We do not believe in Stars, Diamonds or Crowns, because the accommodation, facilities, views and service we offer are exceptional and unique.

We have been welcoming our B&B guests at Carmelin for many years, and we aim to make Carmelin a home from home.  Check our "comments" page, and you'll see why our guests agree.

The accommodation consists of a private suite for two, with its own entrance, so you come and go as you please. The Sun Room, your own sitting room, allows you to sink into the sofa and gaze at the views over the Atlantic to your heart's content. The windows are huge, so your view is uninterrupted. The bed in the Blue Room is a very comfortable double. The bathroom offers you a choice: a bath or a power-shower. And the loo is, in civilised fashion, separate.

Our rate is 110 per night for the suite and breakfast, for one, two or three nights.
For four nights or more, we offer a negotiable discount.
Please ask us about them.

There is no charge for pets.

You'll find everything you need: TV with Freeview; tea and coffee-making equipment with home-baked cake or biscuits; a bottle of wine to welcome you on arrival; a selection of books you won't find anywhere else; binoculars; fresh flowers; a hair dryer. There is also a microwave, a toaster, and your own 'fridge. There is wi-fi connection too; just ask us for the password. If you want to eat in, we'll provide you with all the cutlery and crockery you might need, and your own dining table and chairs are there for you to use at any time.
You won't find a better sea-view. On a sunny morning the sea sparkles, cows and calves wander in the field, and swallows dart about in the summer evenings. Pentreath Lane is an unmade road, and you will hear no more than the occasional tractor, cow, chicken or dog.

Step outside the gate, turn right, and this will bring you to the South West Coast Path and the sea, within minutes.

Turn left and in no time you are in The Lizard Village, with its two pubs, excellent chippy, small family-run shops and cafes.  Walks and views in all directions abound.
The Sun Room - your private sitting and dining area

If you come by car, your own private off-road parking is provided in the Carmelin driveway. If you come to Redruth railway station, we will collect you and your baggage for a lot less than a taxi would cost you - and take you back there if you wish.

Breakfast is a lavish offering, which has received nothing but rave reviews and satisfied sighs. Seasonal fresh fruit and a compote of summer fruits, raspberries or blueberries … home-made yoghurt and local milk … toast from delicious home-made bread ... muffins, bagels, croissants or pains-chocolats … four different cereals, … homemade preserves, marmalades and nut butters … orange and berry juices … a selection of teas and coffees. This is no mere "continental" breakfast, but a feast which will set you up for the day. Special diets can usually be catered for if you tell us in advance.

If you are holidaying with one or more well-behaved dogs (with their own beds) they will be very happy here.

We will do one-night bookings and we will, by arrangement, collect you from anywhere on the Lizard Peninsula and take you back there the next day - at a lot less than taxi rates.

You could stay with us for a few nights and still be within reach of your next walking destination each day, avoiding the every-morning scramble to pack-and-go.
